Instagram sensation and pop-star, Selena Gomez, recently released unforeseen news to social media about her autoimmune disease–which she has disclosed for a few years now–Lupus. Early in the morning on September 14, 2017, Gomez took to instagram the revealing of her kidney transplant and the need being due to the autoimmune disease.
Shocking fans and all of social media, Gomez said, “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer… I found out I needed a kidney transplant due to my lupus and was recovering…”.
Addressing her need for a kidney, she thanked her best friend in the picture provided, “… there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful best friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed…”. Shortly after Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, posted a huge thank you to Francia as well.
