On September 29, 2019, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants baseball teams played at AT&T Park in San Francisco. The teams are rivals and it was the Giants Manager, Bruce Bochey’s, retirement game. He is currently 64 years old and has been with the Giants for twelve years.

The ending score of the game was 9 to 0, with the Dodgers winning. It was a tough loss for Bochy because it wasn’t the ideal way to leave the team. During the fifth inning, Madison Bumgardener, wearing number 40, went to pinch hit. Walking up to the plate, he raised his helmet to the crowd and raised his helmet to his manager Bochy.

During the first inning, the Dodgers managed to score five runs against the pitcher Dereck Rodriguez. The second through sixth inning the Giants held them off. In the seventh the Dodgers scored 1 run and in the eighth managed to score three more, totalling with nine runs to finish. The Giants had zero runs across the board. The Giants got three base hits and failed to score and the Dodgers got twelve base hits and only failed to score three of those hits.

To conclude Bruce Bochy’s last game, he got to end it with over 2000 games coached between the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres.
