Internet star Lil Tay rose to fame in 2018 at the age of 9, because of her loud and abrasive online personality. Her content, though slightly aggressive, attracted the attention of a big proportion of Gen Z.
Referring to herself as the “youngest flexer of the century”, Lil Tay would post on Instagram posing in luxury vehicles, wearing designer clothes and holding up stacks of money. But behind her supposedly rich lifestyle were multiple dark and disturbing conspiracies unearthed by social media which all led up to the most recent and craziest conspiracy that she has ever experienced.
During her 2018 fame period many people supposed that lil Tay’s personality was completely fake and scripted by the adults in her life. Because of these allegations, people began to dig deeper into her family life. This is when we came across lil Tay’s mysterious older brother, Jason Tain.
Jason Tain’s behavior towards his sister during leaked videos was controlling and sinister. This made Tay’s fans and even some of her haters feel awful for the little 9 year old girl. People could tell that behind that tough and aggressive girl was a child who could’ve been experiencing traumatic things at home.
These conspiracies took a drastic turn when Lil Tay’s father Christopher obtained a court order restraining Lil Tay’s online content. Because of this Lil Tay deleted her Instagram. And for the last 5 and a half years we have heard absolutely nothing about the now 14 year old until August 9, 2023.
On this normal Wednesday, the internet was rocked by an Instagram post from Lil Tay’s abandoned account. This post was a memorial post, stating “ It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing”. Lil Tay was dead! No one could believe it, there was no way that she could be dead. Along with this, rumors started speculating that her brother, Jason, died along with her.
Immediately the internet started speculating how she died. Was it an illness? Car accident? Or most famously “Did her brother have something to do with it? The most famous thought was that Lil Tay’s parents were going to lose the rights to her social media and decided to get revenge on her and her brother!
The next 24 hours that followed the post brought rumors after rumors regarding the teen and her supposed “death”.
What really took the internet by storm was when the same memorial post was taken down. The word was that Lil Tay’s account got hacked by a third party and that the teen was in fact not dead.
So what is the truth? Is she or is she not dead?
