Laufey (pronounced Lay-vay), the 24-year-old Icelandic-Chinese singer specializing in jazz music, is set to release her second studio album, Bewitched, on September 8th. Since she has announced the release, she has revealed multiple singles, such as Bewitched, Promise, From the Start, and California and Me.
Though Laufey has been making music since 2020, she first exploded in popularity when her single, Valentine, went viral on TikTok. The song is about a girl falling in love, reveling in the new feeling. By the time Laufey released her first studio album, Everything I Know About Love, in 2022, she had amassed a large following.
Currently, Laufey has 12.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify awaiting the release of Bewitched and the tour. But, what makes her so beloved?
