The annual VMA’s award show is an event that all music lovers look forward to. With the show all wrapped up, fans review the winners, while celebrating the wins and rejecting the losses of their favorite artist. The following is the list of winners in each category, as well as who fans predicted to win.
Best New Artist
This was a close one between Ice Spice and Pink Panthers, especially due to their hit collaboration at the beginning of the year, but overall fans predicted correctly with their expectations for Ice Spice.
Album of the year
Taylor Swift – Midnights. Taylors win for this category was expected by everyone.
Video of the year Taylor Swift – “Anti- Hero” No surprise here, as she was expected to win.
Artist of the year Taylor Swift, was the long predicted winner, turns out fans loved Taylor this year. Swifties are taking over!
Song of the year
Taylor Swift – “Anti-Hero”
This win caught some people off guard due to the prediction of Miley Cirus’s win for her hit song “flowers”, but is it really that big of a shock that Taylor wins again in yet another category.
Best collaboration
KAROL G, Shakira – “TQG”
Big shock here as we all expected Rema and Selena Gomez to take home the prize with their song “Calm Down”.
Best pop
Taylor Swift – “Anti -Hero”
Of course another well expected win for Taylor and all the Swifties out there.
Best Hiphop
Nicki Minaj- “Super Freaky Girl”
Did anyone really expect Nicki Minaj not to win? No.
Best R&B
SZA – “Shirt ”
It’s about time SZA wins something this year considering the popularity of her new album, this was no surprise to fans, if anything it’s a shock she didn’t win anything else.
Best alternative
Lana Del Rey ft. Jon Batiste – “Candy Necklace” we all love Lana she was bound to win in any category she’s nominated in.
Best rock
Måneskin – “THE LONELIEST”
I think we can all agree we expected the Foo Fighters to win this one.
Best kpop
Stray Kids – “S-Class”
This was not the predicted winner for the k-pop category, fans expected Blackpinnk’s “Pink Venom”.
Video for good
Dove Cameron – “Breakfast”
For an underrated category, fans had their minds set on Demi Lovato’s “Swine” but they were obviously very wrong.
Show of the summer
With all the buzz around Taylor’s Eras tour, along with her other accomplishments in various categories her win for show of the summer again comes with no surprise.
