Giants Upset Over the Cardinals

By Yaseen Jangikhan

The Giants came into this game as underdogs, while the Cardinals were the favorites to win this matchup. Before this matchup, it was important that the Giants had to win because of the tragic 40-0 beatdown they got at home to the Cowboys during week 1. We could see that Daniel Jones was extremely ready to doubt the haters wrong, as he was on the field much earlier than others, getting in his reps early. With the Giants already being counted as underdogs and not favorites, it was certain that they would come out of the locker room ready to start scoring some touchdowns.

That wasn’t the case, though, because the giants were already down 20-0 before the second half even started. However, as the second half had started and the tables turned, Daniel Jones came out and led his team to the end zone with a 14-yard rushing touchdown. It didn’t end well after all, though, as the Cardinals had moved down the field and scored a passing touchdown to Marquise Brown. The Giants had then started to find their rhythm which resulted in a rushing touchdown that was run by Saquon Barkley. Daniel Jones started throwing the football down the field, and Saquon yet again scored another touchdown. The score was now 21-28, and the Cardinals were up by one touchdown. With 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter and the Cardinals just trying to run down the clock, the Giants defense forced a stop, and they got the ball back on offense. Daniel Jones was out here passing like we had never seen before, which resulted in him tying the game with a passing touchdown to Isaiah Hodgins. The game was now tied with only 3 minutes left. The Cardinals were running out of time, and they had turned the ball over again. As the Giants had got the ball back, they had gone down the field to kick the game-winning field goal, which made the final score be 31-28.

The Giants had delivered an incredible comeback over the Cardinals. Daniel Jones finished the game with 321 yards in the air, 2 passing touchdowns, and 59 rushing yards with one rushing touchdown. We had seen a Daniel Jones masterclass in this game, and let’s hope he can keep up this playstyle after he faces a tough 49ers defense on Thursday night. However, this game will be even tougher than the Cardinals game as the 49ers possess an unbeaten record with one of the best offenses in the league if not the best defense in the league.
