Since the tragic passing of fellow Migos member “Takeoff” happened earlier this year, famous hip hop artist “Quavo” has taken a stance for gun control.
The 32 year old musician went straight to Washington DC to stand in front of Congress and voice his frustrations regarding gun violence.
“Music is storytelling and no one can tell my story better than me. For me and my family, the fight against gun violence is personal and not something we are going to forget”. “We are coming to DC, bringing the voices of millions of families with us that have been hurt by this kind of violence.” said Quavo.
On his visit, Quavo met with many political leaders including the likes of Kamala Harris, the first female vice president of the United States.
Prior to “Takeoff”’s death, The Migos were an extremely popular trap group with lots of subject matter revolving around drug use, violence, and women. Following the death it will be interesting to see how Quavo’s artistry progresses and potentially change in what he raps about.
