Cam Akers Traded To The Vikings

After a tough start in Los Angeles, Cam Akers looks to have a fresh start in Minnesota. This unexpected move sent shockwaves across the league, leaving fans and analysts stunned. Akers was a promising running back the season during their Super Bowl run. Akers knew he had competition as the Rams had selected Kyren Williams, a running back from Notre Dame who was the 164th pick in the 5th round of the 2022 NFL draft. However, as Kyren Williams started to receive snaps in week 1 against the Seahawks, it was seen that the Rams had been leaning more on Kyren Williams.  During week 2 against the 49ers, Cam Akers had been benched and put on the trade block.

With Cam Akers on the trade block, the Vikings then had interest as they had released their starting running back, Dalvin Cook, and now they were in desperate need of a running back. The Rams had officially wanted to receive a fifth-round pick, but it didn’t go as planned. The Vikings had then sent in a conditional sixth-round pick, as well as a seventh-round pick which wouldn’t be valid until the 2026 NFL draft. The Rams had received two decent good picks, so they sent him off to Minnesota. After Akers had completed his physical, the trade was finalized.
