Benicia English and Journalism teacher Mr.Hughes, has been told he looks like many different people. These were the responses I got when I asked many high school students who he reminded them of. Several of these responses will surprise you.
For many years Hughes has been teased about looking like Harry Potter, by many students and teachers. Hughes has worked at this school for ten years, and every year, many people have told him he looks like Harry Potter. Hughes resembles not only the actor Daniel Radcliffe, but also Harry Potter himself. He’s been told since he was 10 years old, before the film was ever released. The first Harry Potter film was released in 2001. After polling a large number of students, Harry Potter appeared as the most popular lookalike.
Steve-Jimmy from the television program Shameless is the second most popular lookalike. This was a common answer among many girls. Personally, I believe this is his closest resemblance; on the first day of school, I mistook him for Shameless actor Justin Chatwin undercover. An English teacher at this school gasped when she noticed the likeness, but pointed out that Hughes and Steve-Jimmy wouldn’t look much alike if they didn’t have facial hair and the same hairdo. One strange thing about this likeness is that they have the same eyes, which are green but occasionally shift to blue or gray. Although the resemblance is crazy enough they are the same height too, at 5’11”. This has recently become a more popular lookalike as the years went by due to the show’s popularity.
Some have compared Hughes to Elijah Wood from Lord of the Rings. Although their eyes and height are not identical, many people have stated he looks like him. Maybe if they had the same hairdo and facial hair as Hughes and Steve-Jimmy, it would be close.
Hughes has been said to resemble numerous people, but there are a few that stand out. These following few have been spoken by a small number of people, but you’ll notice a resemblance when you hear them.
Some have thought Hughes resembles the first Spiderman, Tobey Maguire. This was not a popular viewpoint, but it was brought up by a handful of kids. I saw it occasionally, but mainly when Tobey Maguire was younger, because Hughes appears to be much younger. This may be more popular than it is because many people recognize this actor from his amazing performance in Spiderman.
One student commented that Hughes resembled Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad. “Only while Jesse had longer hair,” the student said. I recognize a similarity between Jimmy-Steve and Jesse Pinkman, but not much between Hughes and Jesse. Further investigation has revealed that many people have confused Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul for Shameless actor Justin Chatwin. Many classmates agreed that they could see why this student claimed they looked alike.
Many individuals have mentioned Yearbook teacher Mr.O’Reilly as the final person. This amuses me since I know exactly what these pupils are thinking. Many have made this joke to me not really because of the look, but they are both teachers that publish into school pages like the yearbook and newspaper. It can also be said that they are cousins. I’m not sure if they’re cousins, although many people say they are.
Throughout his teaching career, Hughes has been claimed to resemble a variety of people, and there is always something new. Some are clear, while others are difficult to believe. It’s not only Hughes who has a lot of lookalikes; there are a lot of other teachers who have lookalikes as well.
