Saw X was released on September 29, 2023 and is the tenth movie of the franchise. The film had a $71.9 million budget and was distributed by Lionsgate. The movie was in production from October 2022 to February 2023, and the whole movie was mostly filmed in Mexico City. Within its first day of being released in theaters, it made $8 million dollars. This movie consists of Tobin Bell (as John Kramer), Shawnee Smith (as Amanda Young), Synnove Macody Lund (as Dr. Cicilia), Renata Vaca (as Gabriella), Steven Brand (as Parker Sears), Costas Madylor (as Mark Hoffman), Octavio Hinojosa (as Mateo), Paulette Hernandez (as Valentina), Joshua Okamoto (as Diego) and Michael Beach (as Henry Kessler).
John Kramer was diagnosed with Brain cancer. He meets a fellow cancer patient in a support group, Henry who has pancreatic cancer stage 4. He recommends a doctor who was able to heal him from his cancer. Knowing this, Kramer travels to Mexico to meet Dr. Cicilia for a risky, experimental surgery. A few days after his treatment, he finds out none of it was real and he has fallen into a scam that has gotten many other patients. He also found out that Henry was one of the recruiters to lure people into this scam. Filled with rage, he plans out his new game. In this new game, Kramer invents the Eye Vacuum Trap (which was not actually used on anybody due to the fact that Kramer was imagining using this trap on someone he saw attempting to steal from an elder sick patient in the hospital), Pipe Bomb Trap used on Diego, Bone Marrow Trap used on Valentina, Heat Radiator Trap used on Gabriella, Blood Boarding Trap which was meant to be used on Cicilia and Parker but they forced Kramer and Carlos (a young child) to get in the trap which was not intended, Gas Chamber Trap used on Parker and Cicilia, and a Disembowelment Trap used on Henry. As to not spoil more than I already have, to see who lives and dies, you would have to watch the movie.
This movie has to be one of the best Saw movies in this franchise due to its surprising plots, traps, and story. This is the first movie where the victims were all people who have done Kramer wrong personally, making his motive and story even more interesting and intriguing. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and every single trap made me physically cringe. If you are a fan of movies with plots that make you bite your nails, this movie is the one for you. As long as you have a strong stomach and can bear to watch graphic movies, you will love this movie!
