On Tuesday, October 24, around 8:42 pm, a stolen Hyundai sedan struck 21-year-old, April Zoglauer, who was 8 months pregnant with her baby named Devontae. According to NBC, Bay Area news, the hit-and-run took place around Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard. The two suspects were both males in the stolen vehicle that collided with April Zoglauer’s car with her inside of it. Both of them ran off on foot but with cameras around the area, they identified the driver as a 15-year-old and shortly was taken to custody. The other suspect is still on the loose.
April Zoglauer was transported to the local hospital but later was pronounced dead. Her baby, Devontae, was saved by emergency surgery, due to his injuries being so severe from the crash he died hours later. April Zoglauer was a preschool teacher and was loved by many. Her friends and family said that she was a loved teacher and daughter.

Many people brought her and her baby flowers and balloons to mourn her and her family’s loss. At this time, police are still looking for the second suspect and if anyone knows information about the crash, please contact the San Jose Police Department.
