Heaven Knows is Pinkpanthress’s debut studio album released on November 10, 2023 through Warner UK. This album contains 13 tracks with features by Rema, Central Cee, Kelela, and Ice Spice. The genres of this record are mostly centered around drum and bass, pop, alternative/indie, and bedroom pop. alongside this release, Pinkpathress announced her Capable Of Love Tour with 18 total dates starting on 4/6/24 for the North American leg and 2/22/24 for the UK leg of the tour. She is also performing in Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour.
As soon as this album dropped, I instantly hopped on it, and I’m glad I did. Even though her style of music is very consistent with not much variety when it comes to genres, there’s just something about the melody, lyrics, and her voice that just keep you so captivated and wanting more. All these songs revolve around the feelings of love she feels for someone and how it feels amazing but can also hurt so much. To me, it seems like Heaven Knows is heavily inspired by the sounds and nostalgia of the early 2000’s – 2010’s drum and bass or pop music and I can’t get enough. All of the songs are something you can dance or just vibe to. I really feel that her unique singing voice matches perfectly with the type of music she produces as her voice is light, bubbly, and airy, accompanied with a more upbeat, fast pace instrumental
My top three songs from this album are “Capable Of Love”, “Nice To Meet You”, and “Blue”. “Capable Of Love” is about how she’s been longing for a relationship with someone but is also uncertain if, ironically, she is capable of love. “Nice To Meet You” is about how she will do anything for her love and how she loves every single thing about them no matter what. “Blue” is about her pain and heartbreak that her partner is no longer reciprocating the same love she gives to her partner. This album is definitely such a fun listen and each song will make you feel good and you will keep replaying songs over and over again as you cant get enough.
I would rate this album an 8/10 because the love I have for some songs is not the same for the other ones. But again, all of the songs are really good. Definitely would recommend.
