This year in fantasy football, there have been a lot of ups and downs throughout the season. With many players getting hurt, over performing and underperforming players. But today, there have been many players who were drafted really high and have been performing so bad that they were either traded, dropped, and on someone’s bench. These are the biggest busts in fantasy football.
Austin Ekeler- Running back- Los Angeles Chargers
Someone who was drafted really high in the second or third round of many fantasy football owners has been really disappointing. Looks like the running back age is catching up to him. After he got hurt in the first week, he has not been looking so well. Even with being a receiving back, he has not been consistently dropping double digits. There will be times where he would drop 23.3 points then do that for the next three games. But, after that he will be putting single digit points for three games. Especially going to the playoffs, many don’t know if they can trust him.
Najee Harris- Running back- Pittsburgh Steelers
Harris started at RB14 this year and has dropped to RB30. The Steelers offense has been pretty bad, but Najee is not helping them be better. Sharing touches with Jaylen Warren, he hasn’t dropped consistently is around 10-18 points. If he isn’t doing that, then he is dropping single digit points. Owners drafted him to be a flex or a running back two in their lineups, but he has not been performing well. For a person drafted as rb14, he has been a bust this whole season.
Jahan Dotson- Wide Receiver- Washington Commanders
Owners including myself thought Dotson would have a breakout second year, but he has not broken out. Best game this year was when he Wr28 this year and after that. He has not been getting many targets and dropped to WR48. After he dropped 16.9 points in Week 9, Week 10 he dropped 0 points. His target share was dropped 4-6 and has been outperformed by Curtis Samuel who was the Wr3 on the depth for the Washington Commanders. Hopefully next year, he can have the breakout year that everybody was anticipating.
Tee Higgins- Wide Receiver- Cincinnati Bengals
Higgins started as Wr3 in Week 3 and really fell off after that. Due to Ja’marr Chase production, he hasn’t really been as much production. Usually is a deep threat jump ball receiver, but hasn’t really been super productive and dealt with a lot of injuries this year. He has 28.9 fantasy, but a bunch of single digits. So, if you have him in your playoff fantasy this year, try to put him on your bench.
Darren Waller- Tight End- New York Giants
Many thought Waller would be really good this year after being traded, but he has not done anything but deal with injuries. He put on IR and might be playing against the New Orleans Saints, but his right hamstring injury has not helped him at all. He started off slow, dropping only single digit points and starting to heat up when dropping 22.8 points against the Commanders. When being drafted, he was off the board as TE4 and the expected to be Darren Waller from the Raiders. But, he has not proved that all year in fantasy football.
