After a huge wildcard weekend, there were many upsets and a lot of quarterbacks stepping up in the big lights. One team in particular has been making noise in the NFC, which is the Green Bay Packers. Last weekend, the 7th-seeded Packers played the 2nd-seeded Dallas Cowboys and upset the Cowboys, beating them 48-32. With Jordan Love throwing for 272 yards and 3 touchdowns, they have momentum going into the divisional round against the number one team in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers. Two young quarterbacks who are soon to be the faces of the NFL, will duel off in the playoffs to have a shot at the NFC championship.
Green Bay Packers: Youngest team in the NFL facing their biggest challenge yet
The Packers exceeded a lot of people’s expectations this year. After a rough start at the beginning of the year, after week 9, this team has been on a roll. With Jordan Love already playing at a high level and veteran Aaron Jones in the backfield, their offense has been one of the best. Their defense, on the other hand, has been playing well even though they allowed the 28th opponents rushing yards allowed. Jordan Love will have a task playing the 49ers secondary, who are tied for 1st for interceptions with 22 this year. This Packers team is not one to be played with; the 49ers must be prepared for this 7th seed team, who have nothing to lose.
San Francisco 49ers: The team with everything to gain faces a team with nothing to lose
The 49ers were in this position before, they played the Packers in the playoffs two years ago, when the 49ers were the 6th seed who played the 1st seeded Packers and upset them 13-10. Now, the 49ers are in their position, this 49ers team has been playing and practicing at a high level with this insane roster. This team has a lot against their back right now, going against Aaron Jones, who rushed for 3 touchdowns and 118 yards. With a healthy roster coming back, can the 49ers finally get it done? Can Brock silence the doubters? We will see this Saturday at Levi’s Stadium at 5:15.
Final thoughts
This game is going to be a close one, with the 49ers getting their players healthy and coming back to play the Packers, who have been on a roll. I do think the 49ers will be able to stop the run this game with defensive tackle Arik Armstead coming back. The rest I cannot predict due to these teams being that good. These two quarterbacks, who are soon to be the faces of the NFL, will finally face off in the divisional round.
