The Haunting New Installment In Beloved Podcast: The Magnus Protocol Releases.

By: Comet Ziemer

The long anticipated sequel to popular horror fiction podcast, The Magnus Archives, finally released on the 18th. The Magnus Protocol is a sequel series set in an alternate universe of The Magnus Archives. Many fans of the show are excited to see the world they love come back in a new setting.

Some context for you in case you are unfamiliar with either of these shows, The Magnus Archives is a horror fiction podcast that follows the story of Jonathan Sims, the head archivist at The Magnus Institute, where people come to share their stories about the paranormal and seemingly impossible. But, although Jonathan is a heavy skeptic about these stories, even he can’t deny that there are dark secrets lurking in the walls of the institute, and the entire world may be at stake if someone doesn’t do something. The podcast has won multiple awards, and has become one of the most widely known fiction podcasts in the world.

After its 5th and final season ended in 2020, fans have been begging for more as many questions about the world that this podcast is set in were left unanswered. Finally after 4 years, The Magnus Protocol has been released to continue the legacy of its predecessor.

The Magnus Protocol tells a story set in a different universe. We meet Sam and Alice, two low level workers at the underfunded Office of Incident Assessment and Response. The two stumble across the unknown legacy of The Magnus Institute, which was burned down in 1999, leaving no survivors. The two must uncover whatever they can about this dark history before their lives are put in danger.

As someone who has been a fan of The Magnus Archives for over a year, I am so excited to see this new installment grow. The Magnus Archives was something super new and refreshing to listen to.  I am ready to see how they grow upon the story that so many people have fallen in love with.
