The Warriors defeated the Utah Jazz, 129-107, on Monday night to keep their five-game winning streak alive. The dubs seem to be coming back to the proper shape and form with Klay Thompson and Wiggins coming back alive. It seems Curry has the help he needs now hopefully. The Warriors were penalized early in the first quarter, but they more than compensated for Utah’s free-throw edge with turnovers and three-pointers. After the first quarter, the Warriors led by eight points.
Jordan Clarkson caught fire in the second quarter, allowing Utah to briefly reclaim the lead, but the Jazz were unable to keep the game close until Clarkson’s shooting fell off. Clarkson concluded the game with 22 points and led the Jazz. While the Jazz had a few brief offensive fireworks, Golden State’s shooting assault seemed to continue the whole game. Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, Brandin Podziemski, Gary Payton II, and Gui Santos shot a combined 10-for-14 from three on the night.
Not to be outdone, the Splash Brothers took advantage of the support, leading the Warriors in points. Klay Thompson led the game with 26 points on 11-for-19 shooting from the field, while also collecting six rebounds. Steph Curry had a tremendous all-around performance, adding 25 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.
With Curry still one of the best players in the league, Draymond Green, who had 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists on Monday, demonstrating his ability to control the pace of games, and Thompson demonstrating that he still has plenty of offensive upside on any given night, the Warriors appear to have a winning formula.
