Taylor Swift’s Carbon Footprint

By Staff

Taylor Swift is a popular songwriter and singer with hundreds of millions of fans. In recent years, her frequent travels by private jet have sparked controversy about the amount of carbon she is putting into the atmosphere. It’s estimated that Swift has produced 138 tonnes of carbon dioxide in just 3 months, while traveling around the world on her “Eras Tour”. In 2021, she produced approximately 8,293 tonnes of carbon emissions. On average, an American produces 16 tonnes of carbon, annually.

Carbon dioxide is the top contributor to climate change and global warming. To many fans, her private jet use begs the question of Swift’s morality. She’s lost many fans because of her carbon emissions.

However, it seems that Taylor Swift isn’t the only celebrity with a “dark” carbon footprint. In 2021 alone, Kim Kardashian’s jet produced 4,268 tons of carbon emissions over 57 flights. Also in 2021, Travis Scott emitted 3,033 tons of carbon.
