Aaron Bushnell, 25, passed away in the hospital after setting himself on fire in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. He did this as an act of protest of the war in Gaza. Bushnell was an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force. He was pronounced dead at 8:06 p.m. ET Sunday
Bushnell was live streaming on Twitch leading up to this, Before hand he was heard saying in the video “I will no longer be complacent in genocide.” and during the self immolation he was repeatedly screaming “Free Palenstine!”.
Members of the U.S. Secret Service extinguished the fire prior to the arrival of the fire crews.
This event is currently being investigated by the local Police Department, The Secret Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The U.S. Air Force will provide more information after the next of kin notifications are complete.
The Secret service is also commanding a search of his hotel room that he stayed in prior to the incident.
