The Downfall Of ACE Family

By: Paris Mace-Hearne

The ACE family is a YouTube channel, ran by Catherine and Austin Mcbroom. In 2016, when the channel first started, it was based around pranks and challenges. But it turned into a family channel. The name of the channel, ACE, stands for Austin, Catherine and Ellie, their daughter.

The family was extremely successful with their channel, their net worth being a whopping $22 million. They had a large fan base with millions of subscribers. They were living the life that so many people could only imagine living. It was a fairytale, while it lasted.

In 2020, Austin announced his new boxing event called “Battle of The Platforms” where Tik Tok influencers and youtubers would box each other. This event ended up almost ending Austin’s career.

With an event like this, people are going to want to invest and bet on the opponents. In this case celebrity fighters Nate Wyatt and Taylor Holder invested in the match, along with NBA star James Harden. For Austin, this ended up with lawsuits filed against him as he allegedly did not pay back these investments.

To make matters worse, Catherine launched her beauty brand “1212 Gateway”. At first, her brand seemed to be going smoothly. But like her husband, she would end up with multiple lawsuits. Her brand had been accused of being a scam as customers claimed to have not received their orders and were allegedly not able to contact the company to sort this out.

With the ACE family name already in the gutter, fans started to notice little moments in their family vlogs that were strange to say the least. Moments that made people think that Austin and Catherine were in a toxic relationship. These rumors and conspiracies were never confirmed nor denied.

In January of 2024, Austin and Catherine announced that they were getting a divorce after seven years of marriage. The divorce was a mutual decision. This was shocking to a majority of their fans, but some also say they saw it coming. And some even wanted this to happen as their relationship prior to the divorce seemed distant and even a little toxic.

Since this breakup, Catherine has been focusing on her self care and love as seen through her social media. She posts herself going to the gym, her daily healthy meals and spending time with her children.

On the other hand, fans are worried about Austin. It seems as though he might be going insane. It was revealed that after moving out of his and Catherine’s formerly shared home, Austin bought an RV and parked it outside of the house. He has also been posting extremely embarrassing and concerning snapchat stories. Austin’s behavior might be a skit to gain publicity, or it could be a cry for help.

Some have connected their divorce to the ACE family YouTube channel, as it seems as though family YouTube channels always end badly. Moral of the story, don’t start a family YouTube channel.
