2023 was a year full of exciting trends for skincare, beauty, food and more. This year I’m sure there will be even more interesting skincare trends. Here are some skincare trends you are likely to see in 2024.
1. Caffeine as a skincare ingredient
Coffee and face wash? Caffeine is a very good component for your skin. It is like coffee for your skin! Caffeine in skin care can help reduce the puffiness in your skin, It’s most helpful around the eyes. It also has antioxidant properties to help protect our skin from the sun. It’s like giving your skin a boost of energy! Some skincare products that use caffeine are: EltaMD AM Restore Moisturizer (1.7 oz.), AGENT NATEUR Holi(glow) Ageless Eye Serum (0.67 fl. oz.).
2. Niacinamide
For those who do not know, Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. This vitamin helps improve circulation and helps treat inflammation. Niacinamide works wonders for your skin. This ingredient will help strengthen your skin’s barrier which can help your skin retain moisture. Niacinamide is amazing for people with sensitive skin as it keeps down puffiness and inflammation. Niacinamide also helps regulate oil production, this helps prevent breakouts for those with oily skin. On top of all that, Niacinamide can also help treat hyperpigmentation. Some product recommendations that include Niacinamide: Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew, La Roche Posay Pure Niacinamide 10 Serum.
3. Artificial Intelligence
People have been worried about Artificial Intelligence taking over our lives. Well what about it taking over our skincare routine. Like a personal skincare assistant, AI can analyze your skin and decide your skin type, any possible future issues, and can even give you the perfect product recommendations to help you combat any possible skincare problems or breakouts. AI is also helping dermatologists and scientists produce and innovate new skincare products. For the people who also enjoy makeup (yes makeup can be considered skincare), AI can help with shade matching and product searching to make your trip to the makeup and skincare store extremely quicker. Some brands that have been made with the help of AI are: Atolla, Proven, Atypical.
4. Edible skincare
Skincare that you can eat? This new innovation has been taking the skincare community by storm. The ingredients in these products are all food grade ingredients making it safe for you to eat and use on your face. Who doesn’t want a strawberry face mask that does genuinely taste like strawberries? Some of these ingredients are things like Coconut oil, honey and avocado, which are all extremely nutritious for your skin. Some tasty products are: Minimo Skin Essentials Candy Edible Lip Scrub, Edible Beauty No. 2 Citrus Rhapsody Toner Mist.

Holistic Facials are facials that incorporate massage and acupuncture to create a therapeutic feeling. These facials use natural ingredients and smoothing massage techniques to help promote the skin’s barrier. These facials aren’t just about what your skin looks like, it’s also about how your skin feels to you and your confidence. Some great places to get a holistic facial are: Tune Up Holistic Care, Nature’s Confidence.
