Minecraft is the most popular game in the world. The community is vast, from kids to teenagers to even adults making content just playing the game. Many people consider the game a survival or creative sandbox type of game. But, people do not take into consideration the horror aspects of the game.
People have made up a horror character called Herobrine, and he became so popular that the developers have even added him as an Easter egg to the game. If you look in the patch notes, every single one of them has the words, “Herobrine has been removed from the game.” at the bottom. People have posted videos of encounters in their worlds but are only able to see him for a fraction of a second.
Besides that, there are random noises that play, and when they do, nothing seems to trigger them when you look around to see if anything has happened. Nobody knows why these horror sounds play at random times, but they usually happen while in a cave or sometimes above ground.
Even though there are only a couple horror aspects in the game, these aspects do not go unnoticed when playing the game, and can change people’s view of the game from being a survival-type game to a survival horror game.
