Lana del Rey, Doja Cat, and Tyler, the creator, were performing at Coachella this year.
It was the 23rd Valley Music and Art Festival at this location. It took place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio and is held annually.
Coachella Festival was founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999. Every year, famous artists and smaller groups perform songs in every genre. Usually pop, rock, indie, and hip-hop are presented.
There are also food vendors, laser attractions, photo locations, and sculptures. However, as you can imagine, the prices for the event and the festival are very high. Around 175,000 people visit the festival every year. A regular weekend pass costs around $500 (fees not included). However, if you go for the VIP tickets, the price is around $1200. If you attend both weekends, it can easily cost $1500 or more. Food is not cheap around here either. To demonstrate, a standard pizza slice costs $18. Figuring that out for 6 days is unrealistic. Additional costs for camping or VIP lounges are also very costly. A lounge for 3 days runs around $3,000
Almost every year, all tickets are fully booked after just 27 days. It takes place over two weekends. This year, it was on April 12–14 and April 19–21.
This year’s artists were already announced in January 2024. Among them were Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, and Tyler, the creator. There were a total of 147 acts during the 4 days. In previous years, there were around 166 acts, but this has been reduced. Lana Del Rey performed on both Fridays of the festival, Tyler, the Creator on Saturdays, and Doja Cat on Sundays.
There are various tents on the field where musicians perform. At certain times, the major artists perform in the main marquee, and the audience tries to be as close as possible to their favorite artists.
