With the 2024 Coachella season coming to an end just last weekend, we have seen so many great acts and performances throughout both weeks. With major artists performing back to back, such as Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Tyler The Creator, Sabrina Carpenter, Lil Uzi Vert, just to name a few. This year’s Coachella was a more international one with a good amount of foreign acts like the kpop groups Ateez, Le Sserafim, and The Rose performing and some Japanese acts like Yoasobi and Hatsune Miku. Due to the fact we have seen so many fan favorite artists this year, here are some artists I think would be amazing on the Coachella stage.
- Bruno Mars
Let’s be real here, you would be lying if you said that you don’t like Bruno Mars at least a little bit. With a discography so iconic, voice so powerful, and energy so electric, this man knows how to keep a party going. As a person who got the opportunity to see him live back in June of 2023, I can truly say that it was one of the best days of my life. There was not a single dull moment at his show and every song had you screaming the lyrics. You can just feel his love for performing even through a screen. I think he is a perfect choice as a headliner because he doesn’t need an intricate stage design, a team of dancers, or special concert visuals to make his shows extremely entertaining. Also, Bruno is definitely an artist that people would rush to buy tickets for as he doesnt go on many tours or have many shows outside of Las Vegas and Asia and seeing him live is dang near a once and a lifetime experience! He’s the type of artist to hit the stage and improvise his whole performance with little preplanned choreography which makes his shows feel more personal and unique as every show will have something new in store. His stage presence alone mixed with his flawless and great music that everyone knows the words to and his never ending energy, he will definitely tear that Coachella stage up!
- Adele
Adele is one of the very few artists that has fans of people of all ages who know the words to all of her songs. Ranging from “Set Fire To The Rain” to “ Hello”, her otherworldly vocals and her legendary discography, she is most definitely going to attract everyone to her Coachella set, even if they are fans of Hip-Hop, Rap, Pop, Electronic, or other genres, people will rush to see her live and witness the beauty of her music. With the success of Lana Del Rey’s headlining show, there’s no doubt that an artist like Adele, who makes music around the same genre, will garner a huge crowd that will be ecstatic to listen to her in person. Similar to Bruno Mars, she will not need a very intricate stage design with special concert visuals to keep the attention of thousands. Her talent, meaningful lyrics and god-like vocals is enough to have everyone feel as if they have just entered heaven. If you think that she only makes sad ballads, you are mistaken as she has many songs that are guaranteed to make you dance just like you do alone in your room, such as “Oh My God”, “Rumor Has It”, “Water Under The Bridge”, “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)”, and more! Her performances look like a renaissance painting came to life. Adele has so many celebrity fans that range from every genre like Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lizzo, Drake, and ironically, Bruno Mars. With Adele’s ability to make even celebrities, who make music that is the polar opposite from hers, to fangirl/boy over her like a child to One Direction in 2013 guarantees that she will be a great fit to headline the festival.
- BTS
From breaking music records left and right like nothing, to selling out massive stadiums around the world in just a few seconds, BTS deserves the title of “Biggest Boy Band In The World”. From getting 200,000 concert goers in their sold out 4 day show in Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium for their concert “Permission To Dance On Stage: Las Vegas” and 214,000 concert goers for their 4 day sold out show in Los Angeles’s Sofi Stadium for “Permission To Dance On Stage: Los Angeles” back in 2021 and 2022, the group will definitely put on a breathtaking show atop that Coachella stage. Not only do they have hundreds of millions of fans across the globe, even world renowned celebrities can help but be huge fans of the group like Shawn Stockman from “Boyz ll Men”, Halsey (Who they have collaborated with multiple times before), Tori Kelly, Selena Gomez, Zayn Malik, Anderson Paak, and even Megan Thee Stallion (who even joined BTS on stage to perform the song “Butter” who she is a feature on!). When it comes to performance, it is their passion. They always make sure that their vocals, dancing, stage presence, and charisma is on point and is always flawless. No matter how tired they are, they make it their goal to make each performance bigger and better than their last. Even if you are not a fan of them, their music will still make you jump and feel amazing as it is very catchy, energetic and catchy. Even with their slower songs, their silky smooth vocals will make you sway and feel every lyric, even if you can’t understand it. Especially with their extremely anticipated comeback in 2025 after all members served their mandatory military service in South Korea, if they are announced to be at Coachella, the festival will sell more tickets than ever!
- Taylor Swift
Of course I had to include the biggest pop star on earth right now, Taylor Swift! She is named the biggest artist in the world for a reason. With every album she releases, whether it be a re-recorded album or a new album with new music, she breaks so many records, each one topping her own past broken records or breaking new huge ones when it comes to sales (digital or physical) and first day streams. Her “Eras Tour”, became the highest grossing world tour of all time by being the first concert world tour to earn up to one billion dollars, and the tour isn’t even finished yet! With an artist as big as her, she will most definitely make Coachella into her own festival as everyone would be running to see her. With every show, she makes sure that she delivers constant energy no matter the circumstance, even if she feels sick, tired, upset, or anything, which shows that when she’s on a stage, Taylor knows that she needs to perform as if it’s her last time. Her beautiful stage designs to match the “era” that she is in, her intricate concert visuals that she interacts with a lot, her passionate vocals, and her continuous liveliness on stage, headlining Coachella would be something that she will have no problem doing perfectly. If I am being real, I’m honestly really surprised Taylor Swift has never performed at Coachella knowing her level of fame!
- NewJeans
Although they are a K-Pop group, they have already made music that transcends the language barrier and have a huge fan following. With mega popular hits like “Super Shy”, “ETA”, “Hype Boy”, “Attention”, “Ditto”, and more, all of their music is loved by so many and not just K-Pop fans. Many non K-Pop listeners online have expressed that NewJeans has a non skip discography. With their pop, drum and bass, lofi, and dream pop heavy music, they make music that will be loved by all. After making their first US festival debut in Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 3rd, 2023, they amassed a massive crowd of 70,000 spectators, which is reported to be among one of the biggest crowds at Lollapalooza, the biggest one being Billie Eillish in Brazil with 104,000 fans watching. With their obvious mainstream success and devoted fans across the world, especially in the US, for sure they will be able to attract a huge crowd on any stage at Coachella. When it comes to their performances, they are always so visually stunning when it comes to their immaculate stage outfits, concert visuals, choreography, stage design and concepts. That mixed with their stable and beautiful voices and music, this will be a show that people will not want to miss for anything else. The fact that they are able to garner a crowd over 70,000 people at one of the largest music festivals, I’m sure we can all agree that they can get the same or even more fans watching their set at Coachella!
As more and more artists are on the rise and massive artists breaking more records than ever, there is no doubt that there will be no problem choosing which artists to headline or just be performers at Coachella. So much great talent and music is being released and discovered everyday. Because of this, we are seeing so much talent at an exponential rate and it’s being circulated around social media very fast. There’s many artists to choose from who have extreme amounts of talent and this list is just a fraction of all of the artists out there.
