This spring, many new movies and documentaries were announced.
Among others, a biography about the life of Amy Whinehouse, but also movies in the genres of horror, action, drama and comedy.
Amy Winehouse was an English singer and songwriter who was successful, famous, and revered, but unfortunately, she died very young, at the age of 27. This biography shows how it could come so far and what her life was like. Her life is a great example of how the appearance of life to others is sometimes quite different from what it actually is. Marisa Abela plays the leading role as Amy Winehouse. The movie has a length of 122 minutes and will be released in movie theaters on May 17, 2024.
In the drama Challengers, a big star plays the main role. Zendaya plays Tashi Donaldson, who is a former tennis champion and later becomes a coach. In the movie, she is married to a champion who is currently on a losing streak. Tashi tries to get him back on the right track. However, her mindset quickly changes when it is announced that her husband has to compete against his former best friend and her ex-boyfriend. The movie will be aired on April 26, 2024, and has a length of 131 minutes.
A horror movie called Humane is also making its way. A story about a tragic environmental catastrophe that forces the population to displace at least 20% of its population. A father tells his family over dinner that he has a euthanasia program and wants to join the government. Little do they know that this plan will go horribly wrong. The main character is played by Jay Baruchel as Jared York. It has a length of 93 minutes and will also air on April 26, 2024.
An action movie called The Fall Guy is also brought out. The main character is played by Ryan Gosling as Colt Seavers. This movie actually has a lot of action in it. As a starting point, Colt is a stuntman who has already faced many challenges. Being blown up, shot at, or even smashed into pieces. During one of his stunts, however, he is injured and wakes up in the hospital. Now he has to face further challenges. Freshly released, he is given the task of tracking down a missing movie star. In addition, he tries to win back the love of his life while continuing his job. What these tasks entail is shown in this movie, which has a duration of 126 minutes. It will be in theaters on May 3, 2024.
Last but not least, there are, of course, several comedies. One of them is Summer Camp. It’s basically about childhood best friends who used to come together to spend the summer at a summer camp. After several years, the three of them come back together and experience many crazy things at the camp. The main roles are played by Kathy Bates, Diane Keaton, and Josh Peck, as Ginny, Nora, and Jimmy. The movie has a duration of 87 minutes and will air on May 31, 2024.
