Since the beginning of the year, researchers in California believe they have, “perfected putting vaccines into certain foods,” according to reporter Tony Sloan. This new technology would allow for easier distribution of vaccines among millions of people by simply consuming these foods that have been specially grown and engineered.
However, following this recent discovery, several state’s governors have been working towards putting laws in place that would ultimately block these foods from being able to be sold in stores. Tennessee, in particular, is the main example of this. Sloan explains that Tennessee Representative Scott Cepicky, “crafted what he calls a consumer protection bill to make sure you know whether you are picking up a tomato with a vaccine in it or not in the event vaccines are admitted into your favorite foods.” Cepicky and others believe the danger could have to do with the fact that most of the public is not medically educated and could not be sure exactly what dosage each “vaccine veggie” contains which could potentially lead to tremendous adverse effects.
Could these lawmakers be wrong? While this new technology may seem like a revolutionary discovery to some, everyone should be concerned for what this could eventually mean concerning the contents of our food. If it is now possible to genetically enhance produce to be grown containing dosages of vaccines for diseases such as Polio, then what else are they capable of infusing in our food? It is no secret that Americans have one of the worst average diets in the world with our food containing chemicals, preservatives, and several other processed materials that negatively impact our health.
In a study done by researchers at the National Institution of Health (NIH), a group of rats was experimented on in order to observe the effects of the standard American diet on the brain. The rats were divided into two groups. One group was fed all-natural foods and was perfectly healthy, while the other was fed the equivalent of a North American diet. The rats were placed into a tub of water and the time it took them to find their way out was recorded. The first group had outstanding results. The rats easily found their way to safety in under a few seconds and were able to replicate those same results the next day. The second group however, had much worse results. The rats that had been fed the same chemicals that are found in the foods Americans consume everyday, were much slower in finding their way out of the tub, and even when they eventually did, they were unable to remember their learning the next day like the first group. Their brains had been damaged.
While these may just be small rats, it is still clear that the processed foods containing preservatives and other chemicals, had extremely negative effects on the rats brains and therefore have the potential to harm humans as well. According to functional medicine Doctor Cindy Jakubiec, “Roughly 60% of the American diet is made up of processed foods.” Jakubiec also explains that, “Almost half of all American adults have one or more chronic illnesses due to poor diet.” So much of America is oblivious to what is really being put into their food and they are not taking the time to study what is being put into their bodies.
It is astonishing to think that we are now debating the ethicality and safety of putting vaccines into food, when most of America can’t even understand what processed foods and chemicals are or how they can affect our bodies. It may be that this new technology could make vaccine distribution easier in some places, but if the release of these foods is inevitable, there needs to be serious regulations put in place. If you think about it, these foods that are essentially giving you a vaccine dosage, are a form of drugs. In the same way that you could not have unlimited access to vaccines at your disposal, you should not be allowed easy access to produce engineered to include doses of certain vaccines. The only question left to ask yourself is now that they have discovered exactly how to accomplish this procedure, is it possible that vaccines could be put into other foods without us being aware of it at all?
