With fall here, it means it is football season for both NFL and highschool football. After coming off a rough year going 2-8, the Benicia Panthers look like they may bounce back this year to change the culture again. If you haven’t heard, Benicia hired Coach Sarna as their new head coach for this year. He and his staff plan to improve the team and make them have a good season.
The roster on the other hand has a lot of underclassmen stepping up to Varsity, such as Sophomore Marcel Brisco and Twon Blake. But the Seniors Donovan Hill, Jake Morgan, Owen Wittry, and Tobe Alava are leading the team.
Coming off their win against Vallejo High School winning 20-18, they unfortunately lost to Las Lomas 35-0. They plan to bounce back against Destiny Christian Academy, who is 3-0 right now.
There are many questions due to this team’s back to back seasons of going 2-8, but this may be the team that will change Benicia. Not to mention Benicia’s Junior Varsity is also very promising. The future of Benicia will be in good hands, but this year is the year for the team to flip this program around.
