The 49ers V.S The Jets game finished in favor of the 49ers with the score being 32-19. Christian Mcaffrey was inactive for this game because he was dealing with achilles tendonitis . RB Jordan Mason, undrafted, started for this game, and he had 28 carries for career high 147 yards as well—as 1 touchdown. It was an extraordinary game for him. We could possibly see him start in the backfield for week 2 against the Vikings if the 49ers give Mccaffrey another week off due to his achilles tendonitis
Brock Purdy looked pretty good in the game: he completed the day with 19-29 pass attempts for 239 passing yards. Purdy got Jauan Jennings, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Kyle Juschyk working. Jauan Jennings led the team in receiving yards this game for 64 yards. Purdy didn’t need to throw the ball as much because of how much Kyle Shanahan had been utilizing running in this game. Purdy will definitely drop back a lot in the pocket to pass the ball against the Vikings, so we should see a lot more passes.
The 49ers defense had completely disrupted Aaron Rodgers’ day who only threw for 167 yards out 13-21 pass attempts, and he also threw an interception due to cornerback Demo Lenior deflecting a pass to Garret Wilson. Rodgers was also sacked because it was a tough day for him. Fans and football media accounts noticed how the Torn Achilles injury really affected Rodgers: his mobility wasn’t quite there. The Jets leading receiver in targets for this game was Garret Wilson, Breece Hall, and Allen Lazard. Allen Lazard had the best possible game out of Jets receivers. He finished the day off with 6 receptions for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns, making it a great day for him.
The O-line for the 49ers looked very good, as well. Rookie Dominick Puni had an exceptional game; he had many keep blocks when Jordan Mason was running the ball, as well as when Purdy dropped back to pass the ball. Jake Moody had an outstanding game; he finished the day off 6/6 from his field goals. The Jets defense is really missing out on Hassan Reddick as he keeps holding out due to not reaching a new agreement on a new contract. The Jets take on the Titans in week 2, so it should be an interesting game.
