Booms
Isaiah Likely, TE Baltimore Ravens:
Isaiah Likely had a huge game in Week 1 when he got around 26.6 PPR points, and he was the number 1 target for Lamar Jackson. He almost had 33 points, but a touchdown had been called off due to the fact that his toe was on the line. Likely finished the game off with 9 receptions for 111 yards and 1 touchdown. Last season, Likely only played around 25% of the snaps on offense. However, in this first game he was playing 44% of the snaps, and Andrews played about 49.2% of the snaps—a close percentage compared to Andrews. Likely will be a very good option to pick up as a backup right now. However, do not expect this week in and week out because it is improbable Lamar will throw 41 times in a game and Likely to see more than 10 targets in a game.
Cooper Kupp, WR Los Angeles Rams:
Cooper Kupp—what can I say? We got to see a glimpse of 2021 all over again. He was the triple crown king, and the offensive player of the year in 2021. Kupp got 21 targets and caught 14 of those in Sunday night’s game, so we can say he is thriving. The reason he had seen so many of these targets is because Puca Nacua reaggravated his knee injury, but he is now back in training camp, so he will miss 4 games. With Puca missing 4 games, it is going to be a Thanksgiving feast for Cooper Kupp with the amount of targets he is going to get. Kupp finished the game with 14 receptions for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. With the Rams going up against the Cardinals in week 2, Kupp should see the ball tremendously as the Cardinals allowed 34 points to be scored on them by the Bills.
Busts
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR Arizona Cardinals:
It was a rough day for Marvin Harrison out in his Week 1 matchup against the Bills. This poor performance ruined a lot of people’s chances of winning their week 1 matchup. Harrison finished the game with 1 reception for 4 yards, which accumulated to 1.4 PPR points. Harrison got the most receiving snaps on the team, which was 36 snaps during the game, but he only got three targets. However, it was also on Kyler Murray’s part because on one of the plays, Marvin Harrison was completely open for a touchdown, and Kyler Murray didn’t get the ball to him. People have to understand that he is still a rookie, and we haven’t seen such a prospect like this in a long time. We must also consider the fact that rookies need to get accustomed to the league, and they produce better performances later in the season.
Zamir White, RB Las Vegas Raiders:
White was a big name in fantasy after his offseason. Despite finishing the game with 4.6 PPR points, White only had 13 attempts rushing the ball, resulting in only 42 rushing yards. White didn’t get much of the workload as he was out snapped by RB Alexander Mattison for 61% to his 39%. We saw the receiving upside Mattison had, and he was blocking a lot. Mattison could end up having more of the workload in the next few weeks, so it’s best to keep an eye out on him.
