Frankie Valli is a 90 year old singer. He is best known for songs such as “Sherry,” “Beggin’,” and “Walk Like a Man.” These songs came out in the 60’s, so it’s safe to say Vali is a veteran in this field. Recently, Frankie’s name has found its way back into headlines because clips of his concerts have been circulating through TikTok. There are clips of him singing that sparked people to speculate that he is lip syncing. Many are saying he looks dead or that he is being forced to continue to perform.
On many videos of his tour, you’d find comments worrying about the 90 year old singer. While statements, such as, “He looks exhausted” or “He needs rest” were made, others comments alluded to the fact that they believe he is being forced to be there and perform—such as one comment, saying, “Frankie, blink twice if you’re in danger” or another saying, “Why are you doing this to a legend? Very sad.”
Valli broke his silence while social media continued to either make fun of his production or show their concern for him. He stated, “I am going to be out there performing as I always do. I absolutely love what I do, and I know we put on a great show because our fans are still coming out in force, and the show still rocks.” He continued, adding, “I sing, I have singers who sing, great arrangements….everything. I get a chuckle from the comments wondering if someone is forcing me to go on stage. Nobody has ever made me do anything I didn’t want to do.”
Ultimately, Valli has decided that he will continue to perform his music and has maintained that he sings the songs layered, as the production has always been. He says that he loves the industry and that he will continue to perform as long as people want to watch.
