An influencer by the name of Kexiah Jones is known for The Key Look on social media. The Key Look is a black-owned makeup company that provides services for wedding day makeup and hair. Recently, she has been receiving backlash for overstaying her welcome after finishing a bridal party’s makeup. She had posted a four-part series on how she felt her clients were disrespectful, but she didn’t receive the support that she had expected.
This specific wedding that she’s receiving the hate for had made a rule that they would not allow any phones at their wedding. They wanted to be in the moment and enjoy their special day. This was short lived when Kexiah was done with the makeup and decided to stay and film content while ordering the bridal party around. They were understanding at first because they understood she needed content, but she continued to involve herself in the whole wedding, including the photography, and even interrupted the groom’s first look. They decided this was too far and asked her to leave the event.
After this controversy sprung she stated that, “’I had everyone laughing all morning.” She claimed, “There was literally not a dull moment all day.” After this was stated, the internet saw the immaturity of her actions, and how blind she was to what she did.
When she posted the videos of the wedding explaining, “I need content for my social media,” she continued to receive hate for her irrational actions. The internet still noted the issue that this wedding did not allow phones, even if it was for her social media account.
The bride has been silent on this situation, but her friends and even her family have continued to speak out on how disrespectful Kexiah was acting. Since this incident, she has deleted the videos and posted an apology on how she regrets her actions and felt she needed time to self-reflect.
