The 2024 Benicia highschool Homecoming introduced a VIP section to the students. Those who were granted VIP status at homecoming had access to the 2nd floor above the dance floor, as well as food and drinks. The question now is “Was the VIP worth it/should it be continued?”
Here is what some of the students have to say about the VIP lounge:
Tristan Perry said, “VIP is a must for next year,” but also added that, “[the school] should make it more accessible so more students can get a chance to get VIP.”
Jeffrey Wardy stated that, “It’s a definite for next year.” Cozette Calderon agrees, stating that, “VIP is awesome purely because I got to skip the massive line to get inside Homecoming.”
The reaction to Hoco’s VIP is overwhelmingly positive, so it seems obvious that the highschool should do it next year.
The only question seems to be what can they improve and add to the VIP lounge to increase the students’ interest. Per the feedback from the VIP members, increasing food options, as well adding a few more activities, would improve the lounge’s experience.
Even though the lounge was fun most times, the students would only be there for a few minutes before coming back to the dance floor. So with extra activities or food, the school could see a rise in popularity and use of the VIP lounge.
Still, with the overwhelming amount of positive feedback from the event, VIP is sure to continue to improve for next year’s dance.
