Alix Earle’s Skinny Jeans

     This week, influencer Alix Earle has made TikTok go crazy. Alix Earle is a young, well known influencer on TikTok that does a variety of videos. She posts things like getting ready videos, outfit videos, vlogs, spending time with family and her boyfriend, and more. As of December 2024, Alix has 7.1 million TikTok followers. 

     Like most influencers, people love to take inspiration from Alix. She can be many people’s inspiration for clothes, makeup, hair, accessories, and other things in that category. This week, Alix had posted a getting ready video that TikTok users had very strong opinions about. In said video, Alix is picking out an outfit and she chooses to wear skinny jeans. Many girls on TikTok saw this video, and thought that the jeans looked great. Skinny jeans are not in style right now, yet many girls on TikTok have decided to follow Alix and buy skinny jeans again. 

     This mini revolution of skinny jeans has also caused a lot of uproar and negative opinions as well. Since skinny jeans are not in style currently, a lot of people have sent backlash Alix’s way and have voiced their opinions that she should not be wearing them, that they look bad, or that she should not be trying to bring them back. For some, their problem with this video lies deeper than just Alix’s fashion choices. Many girls think that the blind following of Alix is what needs to be talked about. The way that so many young girls all of a sudden liked skinny jeans again and went out and bought skinny jeans just because of one video posted on TikTok was concerning. Many people believe that young girls should think for themselves and wear what they like and not try so hard to fit in with the crowd and blindly follow influencers. After all, Alix Earle is just a regular American woman.
