By Jordan Taylor

In California, there are many beautiful places to ski. Skiing in California offers many different beautiful landscapes and many different famous resorts. This article will discuss some of the best places in Northern California to ski.

Starting off with Mammoth Lakes: it is located in the Sierra Nevada mountains and is known for its ski areas and trails to hike on. Mammoth lakes was ranked in the top 10 ski resorts in North America. The Sierra Nevada mountains provide powder runs, bowls, chutes, cornice dropins, multiple terrain parks, and also have pretty easy trails for beginners or intermediate level skiers. Mammoth lake is a great place and easy place if you live in Northern California and want to go skiing.

Another great place to go skiing in Northern California is South Lake Tahoe. It’s not a very long drive from the Bay Area and has so many different resorts to choose from. Many people love to go to South Lake Tahoe not only for its great skiing but also for a lot of other things to do with their families. So, it’s a great option for families that have people that ski and also people that don’t.

My personal favorite place to ski is near the donner pass in a small town called Soda Springs. It’s a super family friendly place to ski and snowboard. It has a play and snow area for little kids and very beginner friendly slopes. It also has really nice advanced slopes for people that have been skiing for a long time. It’s a small resort but offers a lot of good options for all families. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful if you have any questions. They offer ski lessons starting from beginner level to advanced. So, no matter what level you are at they can teach you something new.

Northern California offers some of the best ski resorts in North America. Whether you go to Mammoth for its many different slopes and vast mountain views or go to Soda Springs to ski with your family, all these places offer something for different people. But no matter where you go, you will find a beautiful landscape and great skiing opportunities.
