Volleyball is a major women’s sport that has gained much popularity over the past few years. Becoming more and more competitive, volleyball has become a loved sport by many Americans. Volleyball in high schools has grown so much too. Many girls love to play during high school and then go on to play at a college level. This article will discuss the top 5-best performing college volleyball teams.
In the number one spot for Division 1 women’s volleyball is Nebraska with a winning record of 28-1. In second place, Pittsburgh with the winning streak of 27-1. These two teams are the closest together with their winning streaks. Both teams are in the top 5 in the NCAA Division 1 category. In third, Louisville with their winning streak being 25-3. In fourth place is Penn St. with a streak of 27-2. The last team in fifth place is Stanford with their streak of 23-4.
The season for these schools has just begun. There are five tournaments these teams will play in over the next month to compete to be number one in the NCAA Division 1 category. The first one being December 1, the select show. On December 5th, there will be the first and second rounds for the volleyball teams to compete in. The regionals will occur December 12 through December 15. December 19 will be the semifinals to determine the two teams that will compete in the national championship to determine the winner of the NCAA for this season. Lastly, on December 22nd, there will be the national championship, which is the biggest game for women’s college volleyball, determining the team that will take the title of first place in the NCAA Division 1 for women’s volleyball.
