Have you ever thought it was strange that others or yourself find so much entertainment from true crime? There could be a few different reasons why many are drawn to true crime. One could be the curiosity of crime and wanting to know about things that are so far from what happens in your own life. It could also be the thrill and suspense of it. True crime to some people could be like a real life horror movie or thriller and get them on the edge of their seat waiting for more. Another possible reason could be how taboo the topic of crime can be and it could make people want to learn more about it when it’s not talked about much in normal conversation.
Why would people be curious about true crime? People could be curious and want to learn more about true crime because they might want to understand what is happening and recognize patterns. Recognizing patterns in crime could help them avoid things like this themselves, and people might feel that they are safer. They could also be curious because of how unfamiliar that topic is to them and their life. It could be similar to how some people crave drama and always want to know about the latest gossip. People might also want to know about the latest true crime and what’s been happening in their area or state.
True crime can also be a thriller for some. For many people, big events like those in true crime stories, documentaries, and podcasts don’t happen in their everyday lives and they don’t hear about it often. Hearing about true crime, following the story and learning more about it is like experiencing a real life horror movie. People could feel like they are on the edge of their seat waiting for more updates and information.
True crime can also be seen as taboo for many people. Dark topics like this are often not talked about in everyday conversation and are often too dark and hard for many people to discuss. True crime allows people to rebel from these social norms and engage in something that is not normally appropriate to discuss. This could be why many people love true crime and crave more stories and information on it all the time.
