Best Light Displays in the Bay Area 2024

By Caden Gilbert

Residents across the Bay Area have prepared for the holidays with some of the best light displays. Some are free to see at houses, and others you have to pay to see.

The first one, in San Jose, is called Enchant Christmas and has over 4 million Christmas lights. There is ice skating, food stalls, shopping, and a bar for adults.

Next is Christmas Tree Lane in Alameda. Some of the best light displays can be seen on over 50 homes that are in the 3200 block of Thompson Avenue between High Street and Fernside Boulevard. This is some of the greatest dedication to light displays that people can show. They even have someone dressed as Santa Clause that will visit the children on the block.

The next best lights that are in the Bay are in Livermore. Deacon Dave’s has more than 600,000 lights on display. It is free to see at 352 Hillcrest Avenue.

Another house on display is in Pleasanton. It is called Widmer World, and has been running for 38 years. It is located on 3671 Chelsea Court, and it is a must see. I have to say that the lights in Livermore are better, but both should be visited nonetheless.

In Vacaville, there are two streets that put up lights together: Arlene Drive and Shady Glen Avenue. They are called Candy Cane Lane and Lollipop Lane, and they provide parking on Fruitvale Road. This one is probably one of my favorite ones because there is a trail that leads you directly to the road.

There are many different light displays that deserve your attention, and are a fun sight to see. Traditions like these are always much appreciated by the community. They are a warm welcome into the holiday season and are what make Christmas so lively.
