The NBA trade deadline is coming up on February 6, 2025. The Sacramento Kings right now are currently 12th in the Western Conference and are just on the brink of a play-in spot. The Sacramento Kings have been underwhelming this year with inconsistent play, and depth has been a major problem for them this year.
Their target is to get another wing who can play defense and be a consistent shooter. Another scorer who can play solid defense is a must for the Sacramento Kings. Players like shooting guard Kevin Huerter and forward Trey Lyles have not been very good this season.
With Huerter only averaging 9.9 points per game reveals why shooting guard Malik Monk replaced him in the starting lineup. Here are the targets that the Kings should trade for:
Brooklyn Nets’ Small Forward: Cameron Johnson and Power Forward: Dorian Finney-Smith
The Sacramento Kings lacked defense in the forward position besides forward Keegan Murray. The Kings getting Cameron Johnson would improve their offense greatly because he is averaging 18.6 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Dorian Finney-Smith is a solid offensive player, averaging 11.0 points per game, but he’s more of a defensive guy who plays defense in the perimeter and the interior. Getting either of the players would vastly improve the Sacramento Kings.
Washington Wizards’ Power Forward: Kyle Kuzma
The Wizards are looking to get younger players, so trading away 29-year-old Kuzma would be beneficial to the Kings. Averaging 15.8 points per game and shooting 42% from the field, the Kings need another person to be able to score as another option instead of the trio of De’aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Demar DeRozen (who have been carrying the offense).
New Orleans Pelicans’ Small Forward: Herbert Jones
One of the most elite defenders in the league, averaging 2.0 steals per game and shooting 45.8%, he is able to score and defend consistently in the game. Though he is very essential to the Pelicans, the Kings being able to acquire the First-Team All-Defensive Team, and he would skyrocket this team if traded for.
