Invincible Season 3 Ends with Thrilling Finale (Spoilers!)

By Caden Gilbert

On March 13th, 2025, the Invincible’s third season came to an end. The entire 50 minutes of this episode were filled with engaging action. The build up for the finale was extremely good too. The leading episodes before the finale showed so many unexpected character deaths, which cemented how good this season really is.

If you are watching or are planning to watch Invincible, there will be spoilers talked about ahead. The first couple of episodes are pretty good, but they are essentially just a lead-up for the later episodes in the season. We get to see some characters’ lives besides those of the main character. For example, we got to learn more about Powerplex.

Powerplex is essentially a villain in the show, and he suffered from the death of his loved ones. These were caused by a fight that the main character, Invincible, and his dad, Omni-Man, had, which killed thousands of people. We see his perspective of the whole fight and how scary and hopeless regular civilians are in the midst of a superhero battle.

In the later episodes, the audience finds out that someone who was thought to be killed in the last season will make a surprising return. This character, Angstrom Levy, has the ability to open portals to any dimension he wants. Because he can do this, he gathers a bunch of Invincible variants that are the villains in their dimensions. He starts an all-out Invincible war worldwide, which lasts for three whole days. These variants caused so much destruction and death. But, eventually, every variant is either defeated or teleported back.

When Invincible is helping clean up after this war and takes a moment to catch his breath, a crazy plot twist happens at the end of the seventh episode. The oldest Viltrumite, Conquest, arrives on Earth and takes on Invincible to a fight to the death. Invincible couldn’t catch a break but had no other choice but to fight.

This fight was one of, if not the best fight in the entire series. The animation was flawless; the choreography and fluidity were amazing. The fight was kind of one-sided at first, with Conquest dominating Invincible. Many more innocent civilians were killed during this fight. Invincible’s girlfriend, Atom Eve, was injured badly during the Invincible War and was hospitalized for a week. When she woke up and saw the news about Invincible fighting, she instantly got up to help.

She arrived on the battlefield and started fighting Conquest while Invincible was out of it, badly hurt. She was able to put up a good fight for a little while, but Conquest prevailed, seeming to kill her. This makes Invincible furious, and he tries his hardest to kill Conquest. But, somehow, Atom Eve is not dead. She seems to have gained new powers in almost dying and burns Conquest’s skin off. This surprisingly doesn’t kill him, but Invincible was certain of finishing the job. He headbutted Conquest until he was eventually out of commission, thus making Invincible win the fight.

After this amazing fight, the rest of the episode takes a calmer tone. This finale was by far the best in the whole series. I was on my toes the entire time while watching this, wondering what would happen next. This only makes fans wonder, what will happen next in Season 4? Everyone will have to stay tuned for the upcoming season, but who knows if it could ever top this.
