Top 5 Summer Fragrances for High Schoolers

By Alex Hendricksen

According to Beautymatter.com, 72% of teens feel subconscious about not looking perfect. While students may always be trying to keep up with fashion trends, they might feel like something is missing. Wearing a fragrance is a great way to feel better and smell better. Hygiene is part of the outfit! I’m compiling a list of 5 fragrances with varying price points so everyone can find something they love at their budget!

Less Than $30

F Black by Salvatore Ferragamo is a great choice for those of us who are on a tight budget but still want to smell fresh and unique! For around $25, you can get this fragrance shipped to your door via Amazon. This fragrance has notes of lavender, green apple, middle notes of black pepper and coriander, and base notes of tonka bean. This scent profile is rich and alluring, so it may be better suited for going out during summer evenings rather than hot summer days. This is not a blind-buy safe fragrance, and I’d recommend going to smell it in person before buying it.

Less Than $50

If you just need a clean fragrance that is inoffensive and easy to wear whenever you want, then Versace Pour Homme might be for you. Its strong notes of lemon, bergamot, and neroli all add to this fragrances’ gorgeous projection. This may be a fragrance that you would consider grabbing in a smaller bottle because it doesn’t last particularly long on skin. Being able to reapply as needed might be something that you consider. This is a fragrance that could easily become your signature scent for a good part of the year because it is suitable for almost any scenario and is relatively inexpensive for what you’re getting. Contrary to some of the other fragrances on this list, Pour Homme is a relatively safe buy due to its general nature.

Less Than $100

Your options open up significantly once you cross the 100 dollar threshold, which makes this a difficult decision. I inevitably ended up picking Versace Eros Energy. This fragrance is super fresh and should be a great long-lasting option for warm summer days. It’s actually a much less popular version of Versace Eros when compared to the original, or to Eros Flame. Why? I’m not sure because you’ll be smelling citrusy and fresh every time you spray this on. It also has some interesting middle and base notes that add some spice and complexity such as pink pepper, white amber, and oakmoss. If you want to smell unique but still fantastic this summer, Eros Energy is a must buy.

Less Than $150

If you’re the kind of guy who wants to just ooze that tropical feel, Le Beau Paradise Garden from Jean Paul Gaultier is certainly something to look at. This one is somewhat of a deal in this category because it can be found at some online retailers for as low as 80 dollars! However, if you’re paying full retail, then expect to pay around $140. This is a green sweet fragrance, which means it can be worn any time of the year and not feel too out of place. However, the strong notes of aquatic coconut may lead you to wear this primarily in the summer. This would also be a fantastic option for summer parties because it is likely to grab attention from anyone passing by. If you’re not afraid to stand out, then this is one you need to pick up!

Unlimited Budget

If money is no object to you, you may as well look at a niche fragrance. These are fragrances that are produced by a company that only produces fragrances instead of producing clothing and other luxury items. (JPG could also fall into this category, but also produces some other goods.) Parfums De Marly is arguably one of the most popular niche brands, and that’s for a reason. Greenley is not their most purchased product, but it should be as it is extraordinarily fresh and clean. This is a fragrance that smells delicious but can also be worn literally whenever you want. However, paying nearly $400 for a bottle of scented alcohol is no joke. But if you can stomach the cost, there is no better fragrance for the summer than Parfums De Marly Greenley.
