Summer is coming up, and many students are going to have lots of free time. The Bay Area is a big place with lots of fun activities and places to visit.
One of these activities is The Light Fest. The Light Fest takes place around the Bay Area in San Francisco and Sacramento, and they have multiple events in April, May, June, and July. The event is from 6pm to 10 pm. You get a lantern to decorate, and then you can release it when it gets dark. This is a family friendly event and is a great place to bring your loved ones to.
Summer in the Bay Area is usually very hot, and luckily there are many beaches close to us, including Stinson Beach and Half Moon Bay. Both are an hour and thirty minutes away from Benicia. Both of these locations have beautiful views, big beaches to spread out on, and local shops and restaurants to visit.
The Bay Area is a beautiful place and has many great hikes with amazing views. One of these hikes is Cataract Creek on Mount Tamalpais, which is a 6 mile hike and great if you’re looking for an advanced trail. This trail takes about 2 hours to complete. If you’re hiking with friends or family and want a lighter, easier trail, a great option is Cascade Creek in Mill Valley. This hike is about 0.4 miles and takes less than an hour to complete. Both of these trails have small waterfalls and creeks.
These are just a few out of hundreds of the amazing sites to see in the bay area, and are a great way to get out during the summer!
