My Opinions on Crumbl Cookie

By Teagan Martin

If you’ve been on TikTok, or have just heard about it, I’m sure you’ve heard the name Crumbl Cookie. Many people like it and think the flavors taste good. But what if it’s not actually all it’s chalked up to be?

In case you don’t know, Crumbl Cookie is a very popular dessert chain founded in 2017, mostly popular on platforms like TikTok. They’re known for large cookies, a changing menu, having many followers on social media platforms, and the overall aesthetic pandered toward social popularity.

By 2020, popularity had sprung. Only three years after being opened, there had already been over 100 locations. As of August 12, 2025, there are around 1,098 locations open.

Last year, a Crumbl Cookie was set up in Sydney, Australia. Many of the people out there were excited, lining up to try the cookies that they’ve heard so much about. However, much to their disappointment, many people disliked it. First, the price, $12 for each cookie. More disappointing however, was the taste. When interviewed, Collin Switzer said, “Crumbl is 800+ calories per cookie and mostly bad fats, lots of sugar and carbs and the taste gets old and I start to not enjoy it.” “It tastes like flour/dough.” said student Emma Melvin. Many other people said that the cookies were too sweet or agreed with the prior statements, saying because the cookies were so big they were doughy in the middle and you could taste the flour/dough. There’s also articles explaining how unhealthy the cookies are and how they use some potentially harmful ingredients in the doughs/flavours. Many of the ingredients (such as titanium dioxide, polysorbate 80, and acesulfam potassium) are linked to major health issues like cancer, weight gain and inflammatory issues, and can damage DNA.

Crumbl uses animal cruelty for their eggs. The chickens used are kept in battery cages which are illegal in many states and have been since January of 2012. The cages are incredibly cramped so the chickens can’t roam or act on any natural instincts so as a result, the chickens suffer. The birds are kept in filth too, the cages going uncleaned and the stench being so strong, it’s all that you can smell when you walk into the place the cages are kept. Crumbl has refused to make a change to how they source their eggs, as well as not responding to concerns.

No matter if you like their cookies or not, there is still a lot that’s wrong. Not only do they refuse to change their egg sourcing, remaining with cruelly sourced products, their cookies are incredibly unhealthy and underwhelming.
