Why JD And Ryan Should be Fired from Editors-in-Chief

By Will French

Our 2025 Journalism class is at an all time low, and I blame that on our editors-in-chief. JD and Ryan have been awful at their jobs thus far. Many students of the class, including myself, have had major problems with these two.

My last article that I wrote was sent straight into the trash. Ryan gave me zero help on my work, and gave no suggestions on how to construct a better piece of writing. Ryan then went on to tell me, “Will, your article sucks. You need to start over, and write me a whole essay on why you should be allowed to write articles.” From then on, my feelings have been shattered.

Writer Nolan Karlitz, a fellow student from my class, had a horrific encounter with JD. He quoted that, “JD threw my chromebook off of the second story balcony after reading my article. He then told me I should give up on writing completely. No feedback was given to me, and it ruined my confidence as a writer all together.”

All class, they yell. They scream. They demand. I feel like a prison inmate in this class. No help is ever given, only criticism. Even Mr. Hughes, arguably the best teacher in the entire school, is afraid of them. He doesn’t give orders anymore, he receives them, no questions asked. I feel bad for the guy, who is so kind and respectful to his peers.

If you are reading this, please don’t tell JD or Ryan about this article, or my high school career is over. No more writing, no more friendships, they will isolate me from everyone else in an instant, with no remorse.
