Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Announces its New Cast

By Scarlett Tarango

The cast for the upcoming sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, has just been announced. Many of the stars from the first film will be returning for the second, like Josh Hutcherson who plays Mike Shmidt, Elizabeth Lail who plays Vanessa Afton, and Mathew Lillard who plays William Afton, will all be returning for the sequel. But many fans are raving about the new additions to the cast.

The three main animatronics and faces of the film, Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, and Toy Chica, will be played by Kellen Goff, Mathew Patrick, and Megan Fox.

Fans were shocked at this announcement, as in the first movie, the animatronic characters had no voice actors. However, many are intrigued by this new twist to the movie, and are excited to see how these new stars perform.

Kellen Goff, the movie’s voice of Toy Freddy, is well known by most FNAF fans. Goff has been a part of voice acting in the games for years. He first appeared in the franchise in 2016, voice acting Funtime Freddy for Five Nights at Freddy’s Sister Location.

Goff then reappeared in 2017 in Pizzeria Simulator as Molten Freddy. Finally, Goff returned four years later for Security Breach, and Security Breach: Ruin as Glamrock Freddy and the Daycare Attendant. Many fans are excited for what Goff will bring to the movie as he’s made a reputation for his variety of voices, his iconic voice being loved by many.

Another familiar face among fans joining the cast is FNAF theorist Matthew Patrick, or as he’s more commonly known online, MatPat.

MatPat has made a well known reputation on Youtube because of his years of theories about the games. Fans were enthusiastic about his cameo in the first movie as a waiter, so many are ecstatic for his upcoming and larger role for the sequel.

Besides his presence on Youtube, MatPat has had a variety of acting experience, graduating from Duke University as a theater major. “I’ve gone from being a theorist about ‘FNAF’ to being stuffed inside of an animatronic suit,” MatPat states in his prerecorded message at a NewYork Comic Con when his casting was announced, “I think that’s probably the greatest honor any ‘FNAF’ theorist could hope for.” Cites USA Today article.

To the surprise of many fans, Megan Fox will also be joining the cast as Toy Chica. Fans were shocked at this sudden and unexpected casting. But to many’s surprise, Fox is thrilled to become a part of the franchise.

“Her kids happen to be huge ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ fans, so she has heard about this world for a long time from her kids,” director Emma Tammi said according to USA Today article. “She was really pumped to do the voice of Toy Chica, and she did the most amazing job.”

Additionally, Fox has had experience voice acting. In a ScreenRant article, Brennan Klein writes, “Fox is also no stranger to voice roles, having provided voices for the video games Mortal Kombat 1 and Transformers: The Game and the stop-motion animated series Robot Chicken”

The recent casting announcement has gotten fans excited for the upcoming film, curious about how these voices will be used in the movie. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will be hitting theaters December 5, debuting familiar faces and introducing new ones.
