Christmas is the time of year where everybody in the world gets together and gives each other gifts. Santa Clause comes down everyone’s chimneys and gives wonderful gifts to all the children who deserve them. Over 2 billion of the 8 billion people in the world celebrate Christmas. Christmas movies are what makes everyone feel the spirit. Here are the 5 top Christmas movies in America.
- Home Alone 1
Home alone is one of the most popular Christmas movies in the U.S. because not only is it a Christmas movie, but it’s also a comedy.
In the first home alone, a little boy named Kevin acts out the night before their trip to Paris and his mother makes him sleep in the attic. His family then forgets about him and goes to the airport not knowing that Kevin is still in the attic sleeping. Kevin then wakes up and realizes that he is home alone. Kevin does not feel bad about it and enjoys being by himself. But the first night of him being home alone, 2 bad guys plan to rob Kevin’s house. Kevin sets up many obstacles and the bad guys eventually give up.
- How The Grinch Stole Christmas
The Grinch is a fan favorite christmas comedy. The Grinch is one of Jim Carrey’s, who plays the grinch, most known films.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas starts off with a little girl named Cindy Lou Who, she feels like Christmas is losing its spark and it does not feel the same. Cindy Lou Who learns about The Grinch and tries to understand why he despises Christmas because it is such a lovely holiday, how can someone hate Christmas? Cindy Lou Who attempts to make The Grinch love Christmas and after days of trying to convince him he finally agrees with the people of Whoville.
But that is not enough. The Grinch gets a change of mind and continues his plan of stealing all the children’s gifts that Santa put under the tree. Not only does he steal all the gifts, but he even steals the tree! The Grinch sees everyone’s pain and gives all the gifts back and helps bring Christmas back together again. The Grinch decides that Christmas is not so bad after all.
- Elf
Elf is another amazing Christmas comedy that everyone loves.
This movie begins by showing how Buddy the Elf is not an actual elf. He is a regular human just like everyone else but he somehow managed to crawl into Santa’s gift bag.
Buddy finds out that he is not a real elf and begins his journey to find his biological father in New York City.
Buddy finds his father but his father does not believe that he is his son. Buddy gets sad and gives up on his journey. He finds out that Santa’s sleigh is not working how it’s supposed to. Without Santa’s sleigh, he can’t deliver gifts to all of the children. Buddy and a girl he met up with bring back the Christmas Spirit to all the people in New York City and Santa’s sleigh works again so he can deliver christmas presents to all the children.
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a movie that is made for Halloween time and Christmas time.
The movie starts off with a guy named Jack Skellington who lives in Halloween Town but finds an unknown world called Christmas Town. Jack comes up with a plan. He decides that he is going to kidnap Santa Clause and take over his role. Jack completes his plan but soon discovers that his plan was a bad idea.
- Christmas With The Kranks
Christmas With The Kranks is another funny Christmas comedy movie.
Christmas With The Kranks starts off with 2 parents, Luther Krank and Nora Krank. Their daughter is off to a college far from home so they decide to not do Christmas this year and go to the Bahamas instead. They cut all their important Christmas plans to save money. The Kranks’ neighbors are not happy with their plan and harass them until they do the neighborhood Christmas tradition.
The Kranks’ still ignore their neighbors and continue with their plan to go to the Bahamas. They get a call from their daughter saying that she is coming back home for Christmas. The Kranks cut their plan and decorated for Christmas at the last minute for their daughter.
