The Thanksgiving horror movie accuracy

By Priya Reed

When the holidays start to roll around, what would you like to watch? Holiday classics or even holiday animations? Well, what I’ve noticed is a pattern of directors and writers starting to make holiday horror movies.

Christmas has krampus and halloween is Known for it scaryness but what about the more “regular” holiday like valentines day, But that now has heart eyes  And Thanksgiving has thanksgiving horror.

So would this new Thanksgiving horror movie  make you want to watch it while eating your meal with family? Well lets look into the pros and cons of the movie.

Con of the movie would be the plot

  • The plot of the movie is about a terrorized maniac that goes around a town in Massachusetts killing people. What does this have to do with Thanksgiving? Well it doesn’t tie to the storyline because it is a horror movie.
  •  Another con is that there are not a lot of Thanksgiving horror movies. In the article “Thanksgiving Movie Ending Explained” by Time Magazine it talks about how Thanksgiving movies start to lose the plot of real Thanksgiving pilgrims.

Pros of the movie are Reviews

  • One review from Bryson Hanson,  “The film instead of being gritty and stylish homage, thanksgiving feels like a lazy blumhouse remakes of much more ionic movies ”
  • “The movies also included the black friday, and made it into a horror part of the movie, saying that black friday used be harsh,” Mia Brown

The accurates of the movie  had a good amount of horror but didn’t really get a back story of the “truth of Thanksgiving” but it pulled it all together.  So over all tomatoes for this movie from critics were rotten tomatoes was over all 96%.

I feel the movie should be streamed on more platforms so it could be watched more by users on thanksgiving for families that maybe cannot reach it or haven’t seen it yet.
