      Going on vacation is a good way to get your mind off of stressful things like school or work. It can ease your mind by having fun on vacation with either family or friends. Here are 5 vacation spots that people in the U.S. like to go to when things are stressful.   

1.  Hawaii

    There are 8 major islands of Hawaii, but the main island (Hawaii) is the most popular. At least 9.7 million people visit Hawaii each year and 74% of visitors are interested in moving to Hawaii after visiting. Hawaii is known for its beautiful beaches, volcanic landscapes, and unique culture. Activities visitors do in Hawaii include going to the beach, star gazing, going to Hawaii volcano national parks ($198 per person), and snorkeling/diving ($250 per person). A round trip to Hawaii is around $1000 or more depending on the time of year you are going, how many activities you do and where you stay.

2. Florida 

     Florida is most known for its theme parks, stunning beaches, and diverse wildlife. The most known nickname for Florida is The Sunshine State. Florida got this nickname because of its sunshine it gets all year round. Fun activities tourists enjoy while they stay in Florida are the theme parks (Universal and Disney), snorkeling, diving, and boat tours. A flight to Florida cost around $400 to $500 and including the activities and hotel you stay at, the total round trip would cost around $2000 or more. Florida is a good place to go during summer time to enjoy the nice beaches and shops.

3. California

     California is most known due to its diversity in geography, global technology and entertainment (Hollywood), rich cultural mix, world-class universities, and powerful economy. Most people go to Hollywood out of all places in California because of the historic entertainment industry, the famous current and past actors, singers, dancers, etc. People also enjoy going to Pismo Beach, San Diego, San Francisco, and Monterey. Activities you can do in California are surfing, skiing, Disneyland, Universal Studios, hiking, and tours. California is interesting because you can do many different activities like surfing and skiing on the same exact day. A trip to California would cost around $1000 but if you are going to LA it would cost more.

4. New York

     New York primarily refers to New York City because it is the most popular city in the U.S. Many people go to New York City for its 5 famous boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island.) Manhattan is the most populated part of New York City because of its iconic skyline, The Empire State Building, Central Park, Times Square, and Broadway. The state of New York also has other cities like Buffalo and Albany (the capital). A trip to New York would cost around $800 but if you’re going to New York City it would cost $1000-$2000. 

5.   Colorado

     Many people like to travel to Colorado for its beautiful national parks and the Rocky Mountains. There are four national parks in Colorado. Rocky Mountain National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Some activities visitors do while their stay in Colorado is skiing, whitewater rafting, and hiking at national parks. A trip to Colorado costs around $400 per person.
