There are many pro and semi-pro football teams, such as the NFL, college, and some good high school-level teams; they have a strong brotherhood because of team building, and the many struggles they endured together. At times, I felt like the teams I’ve been on have created a strong bond, and friendship, like a real team, and this was mainly due to….
This was by doing things that have helped with creating our connection. One way was when I got to know them throughout our practices, games, and other conditioning. Getting to know not just their names but also their strengths, weaknesses, and personalities as well. Not just that, but when they put us through hell week(s), or even month(s) of conditioning, training, and drills when we all had to support, and encourage each other, to push ourselves during all the constant 100 yard sprints, all the short and long runs, all the up downs, and tiring gassers. It created leaders, and genuine friendships. This accommodates and spreads on and off the field as teammates, as players, and as friends.
A high school student was asked “What is something that you and your team have done to grow closer?” Justin LaBar responded with “We worked in the snack shack together during the varsity game, we had fun, came closer together, and made memories that would last throughout high school as a team”
“Why do you think being close to your teammates is important?” Curren answered with “Being close to your teammates is important because having a connection to your team is important for support and also a fun way to make new friends and just have fun.”
NFL team the Detroit Lions work the best together and often seen as a really good team because of the team work among its players they have a really strong running back duo probably even the best in the league of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery who have worked well together ever since they started playing together and have shown that consistently throughout their time together in an article from ESPN Mike Clay states that “The running back position is strong across the NFL, but it’s hard to find a better duo than Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. Since the two teamed up in 2023, Lions RBs have produced a league-high 5,960 yards and 57 touchdowns. That’s 718 more yards and eight more touchdowns than any other team’s RBs.” I got this quote from “2025 NFL positional group rankings: Best, worst team units.” on Best: Detroit Lions, Clay.
