From January 26-30th are the Clash of Classes spirit week followed by the winter formal which will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 7pm to 10pm. There hasn’t been a winter formal in a couple years, so this is exciting! Not only is that exciting but the theme is also very exciting. The theme will be Night on Olympus.
When Alexis Fa’aita a senior, the ASB president was asked about why leadership chose the theme, Night on Olympus, she answered, “It was based on how competitive it [the clash of classes] was last year. Last year we did the Olympics for the theme and those have Greek origins so we decided this year’s theme would fit. It also brought out the competitive nature.”
These are the days of the spirit week. Monday, January 26 theme Hermes gladiators. People can wear their favorite sports team’s jerseys and watch an athletic competition during lunch.
Then on Tuesday, January 27th, the theme will be Apollo’s muses. People can wear their favorite song artists merchandise or wear clothing that represents an instrument and during lunch there will be an art competition.
On Wednesday, January 28th the theme is Athena’s engineers. People can dress up as the occupation they wish to achieve in the future as well as participate and watch the egg drop competition in the quad during lunch. Alexis Fa’aita said, “The egg drop competition is different from the others, like everyone has a certain time to engineer their own thing to protect their egg. So I think it will be really fun to watch.”
Thursday, January 29th the theme is Fate’s historians. Each grade level can dress up as a different decade. Freshman are the 60’s, sophomores are the 70’s, juniors are the 80’s, and seniors are the 90’s. The activity for Thursday is gonna be deal or no deal trivia.
On the final day of clash of the classes, Friday, January 30th the theme will be Champion of gods. People can wear their class color for rally day. Freshmen wear red for Ares, sophomores wear green for Athena, juniors wear blue for Poseidon, and seniors wear yellow or gold for Zeus.
Finally on Saturday, January 31 will be the class bash winter dance which will be the first winter dance in three years! The dance’s theme is a night on Olympus, which will be a semi-formal event held in the gym and the MPR.
This dance will have a lot of different things that can appeal to anyone! Like the garden of Olympus dance club which will be in the gym, and karaoke at the Hades blacklight lounge, Hermes arcade, Aphrodite’s black light body art which will all be in the MPR. There will also be the feast of Dionysus with food options like dirty pop sodas and Crumbl Cookie as well as a photo booth in Poseidon’s grotto.
So with the Clash of Classes and winter formal coming up there will be a lot to look forward to this January.
