Benicia High School offers a lot of entertainment opportunities, and one of those included is the improv shows. At the improv shows, a group of students are given a prompt, and are to do or say what comes to mind, to fit that prompt.
During the 25-26 school year, Benicia High School offers 6 different improv shows to attend, which all include different prompts and activities.
The upcoming dates for these shows are: Friday, January 23rd, Friday, February 20th, Friday, April 17th, and Friday, May 22nd. All of these shows start at 7pm, with doors opening at 6:30pm, and they end at around 8pm.
Tickets to improv shows are set at $11 for adults, with the adult advance (ticket/tickets must be bought online), and $13 at the door. For students, tickets are $8, with a student advance, (ticket/tickets must be bought online). While at the door, they are $10. Although these prices could be changed if you have a promo code.
To purchase a ticket online, you must go to tabbs.org, scroll down until you see purchase tickets, and once you click that you will see a “BUY IMPROV TICKETS” button, highlighted in blue. You would then press that button, and proceed to purchase your ticket/tickets with the “get tickets” button.
Not only are the improv shows fun because of the uncertainty in what is going to happen, but the audience is also able to participate in some cases. For example, somebody on stage may ask a question or need somebody to come up, and use them as an example, randomly picking them from the audience. Making the experience even more enjoyable.
Some of the scenes/games that the B.I.T.E team uses could be performing a rap, good advice, bad advice, or making out a random scene with somebody, with the prompt chosen by a person in the audience.
Improv shows at Benicia High School are a fun experience for everybody who attends and can bring many laughs to the audience as well as the people that are performing on stage. This is because of the unexpected lines that will catch you off guard, and keep you wondering what the actors will say next.
