Today is the day. Today is the day we ask ourselves, arguably, the most important question of recent times; is six seven dying?
Over these past months, six seven has ruled tiktok. It eventually spread to classrooms, and it later became everyday life. Teachers say it in their lessons, and the students couldn’t keep their laughter in, until now. Everytime I hear it now, it brings a sensation to my chest, a feeling of cringe.
I conducted a test in my Journalism class, where Mr. Hughes walked up to the front of the class, and announced six seven. The silence was deafening. I could feel the cringe building in my stomach, and you could feel it throughout the room.
Shaiah Culligan then stated that, “The six seven meme just doesn’t have the same thunder it once did. It used to make a whole class laugh, and now, it just brings cringe to teenagers, failing to succeed as a joke.”
Nolan Karlitz said, “I try to enjoy it now, but I just can’t help but feel a pain in my chest, but not real pain. It’s like the feeling you get when you hear something that is just cringy, and you have that feeling in your chest. I must say, it has been less and less funny every day that goes by.”
After all of my personal experiences and other talks with students, I have come up with the conclusion. It is just about time to let go, and to move on, and create the new best meme of 2026. It hurts to say it, because it was an era, I will admit it. As a writer, as a human, and as a student, I am sorry to say, but the six seven meme is now dying.
